Since its inception in 1980 as an independent non-profit corporation, the Providence Revolving Fund (PRF) has been at the forefront of preserving the rich heritage and cultural significance of historic buildings and sites. Our mission transcends the preservation of brick and mortar, touching the very lives of the people in our communities. We strive to not only restore and maintain important architectural landmarks but also to rejuvenate the communities they anchor, fostering a sense of place and belonging.
Our approach is broad and dynamic, targeting neighborhoods that have been underinvested across Rhode Island. We recognize the vital role small businesses play in the vitality of these neighborhoods. Thus, our support extends beyond home improvement and residential revitalization to include nurturing local and regional enterprises. By empowering small businesses and developers, we contribute to the economic health and sustainability of the communities we serve.
Our funding model is designed to create a ripple effect of positive change. Through our lending programs and services, we aim to not only preserve physical structures but also to invigorate community spirit, support family stability, and inspire future generations. We are committed to being more than just a fund; we are a catalyst for enduring change, making a lasting impact on the lives of individuals, families, and entire neighborhoods.
