back to projects
Long time neighborhood residents Miranda Russell and Bill Crozier came to the Revolving Fund in the Fall of 2003 with a simple request; a loan to replace their leaking roof. Working with Project Manager Thom D'Ovidio, the roof was completed in about one week's time. By this time, the restoration bug bit both Bill and Miranda. As of winter, 2006, three of four phases have been completed. The transformation of this vernacular cottage was mostly the work of Bill Crozier, who is a fine furniture builder/RISD professor. Upon removal of the exterior shingles, original ship lap siding was found beneath in very poor condition. Replacing all the siding and adding cornerboards, watercourse, new windows, doors, and exterior lighting have dramatically changed the appearance of this cottage in the Broadway-Armory Historic District. Phase 4 awaits!
